Welcome!

I've finally decided that I am a writer - all the other things I do just pay the bills. Someone eloquent once said that if you do what you love, the money will follow. Well, let's just see about that.

RIP Aggie

RIP Aggie
Aggie was my fifteen-year-old cairn terrier - or maybe I should say I was her 55-year-old person! She was my faithful companion, spoiled rotten and I am still trying to figure out what to do without her.

Peter the Cat...

Peter the Cat...
This is Peter the gingersnap tabby! He's seven years old and has just been promoted to Peter the Very, Very Good. He is working his way up to Peter the Great...

Bee - the Cat Who Came From Somewhere Else...

Bee - the Cat Who Came From Somewhere Else...
Bee is Peter's buddy. He's eight years old and has made himself right at home. I guess cats really do come in pairs or sets of three!

And Jasper makes three!

And Jasper makes three!
Jasper is our new guy - the Cat From Another Place. He's four years old and we think he likes it here - so far, so good!

Project completed...

It seems like I've been clipping odd pictures and recipes from magazines for eons - and several years ago, I started putting them into this Mary Engelbreit binder.  I've been calling it my possibilities scrapbook.  After I decimated my collection of ME Home Companion magazines a couple of weeks ago, I had a huge new pile of clippings to trim and add to my book.  Well, it was a great project for a rainy Sunday afternoon.  They're all neatly put away - but in no particular order, which I am sure will shock anyone who truly knows me.  I did that on purpose - the joy of thumbing through the scrapbook is how random it is - and how little things in the photographs catch your eye, especially things you didn't notice the first time through.  Odd how strangely satisfying a really meaningless little project can be, isn't it?

  1. This is SO not meaningless!!!!Have you read 'Simple Abundance' by Sarah Ban Breathnach? She suggest doing EXACTLY what you just did! Do not underestimate the impact this project will have on your life!

  2. Sometimes those "simple" projects are just what's needed. For me they soothe my need for order.

  3. Feels so good to get this accomplished, doesn't it? And as hard as it was to cut up the magazines, to be able to look in one binder and enjoy the best parts is so wonderful.
