Welcome!

I've finally decided that I am a writer - all the other things I do just pay the bills. Someone eloquent once said that if you do what you love, the money will follow. Well, let's just see about that.

RIP Aggie

RIP Aggie
Aggie was my fifteen-year-old cairn terrier - or maybe I should say I was her 55-year-old person! She was my faithful companion, spoiled rotten and I am still trying to figure out what to do without her.

Peter the Cat...

Peter the Cat...
This is Peter the gingersnap tabby! He's seven years old and has just been promoted to Peter the Very, Very Good. He is working his way up to Peter the Great...

Bee - the Cat Who Came From Somewhere Else...

Bee - the Cat Who Came From Somewhere Else...
Bee is Peter's buddy. He's eight years old and has made himself right at home. I guess cats really do come in pairs or sets of three!

And Jasper makes three!

And Jasper makes three!
Jasper is our new guy - the Cat From Another Place. He's four years old and we think he likes it here - so far, so good!

Shoulda made time...

to go and get the baby gate at Target.  Like I would ever really pass up a chance to go to Target and browse...  But, no - I was really trying to get the last of the stuff out of the old office today and I decided that I could get the gate tomorrow.  Coulda, shoulda, woulda - story of my life.  In my infinite wisdom, I had foolishly affixed the handle of Aggie's leash to the knob on the printer cabinet door on my lovely desk.  This temporary fix was working quite well to keep my overly-friendly little cairn from mauling my clients - until today.  Ariela and Marco were carrying boxes inside this afternoon and Aggie saw the open door and ripped the cabinet door open and would have pulled it off the hinges if I hadn't grabbed her by the collar and leash.  As it is, she demolished the door by pulling the hinge side off the center panel - and the desk is solid oak!  Not a pretty sight.  Fortunately, I have clients in the furniture repair business and I am confident that they can make my desk as good as new.  I am definitely going to Target first thing in the morning.

  1. oops. Well isn't it always like that. Or it seems like it's always like that. If it makes you feel better I spent 30 minutes wrapping a tree in hot wire to prevent further gnawing by a large cloven equine who I knew had the potential to cause major damage to said tree. Hindsight is always 20/20.
