Welcome!

I've finally decided that I am a writer - all the other things I do just pay the bills. Someone eloquent once said that if you do what you love, the money will follow. Well, let's just see about that.

RIP Aggie

RIP Aggie
Aggie was my fifteen-year-old cairn terrier - or maybe I should say I was her 55-year-old person! She was my faithful companion, spoiled rotten and I am still trying to figure out what to do without her.

Peter the Cat...

Peter the Cat...
This is Peter the gingersnap tabby! He's seven years old and has just been promoted to Peter the Very, Very Good. He is working his way up to Peter the Great...

Bee - the Cat Who Came From Somewhere Else...
Bee is Peter's buddy. He's eight years old and has made himself right at home. I guess cats really do come in pairs or sets of three!

And Jasper makes three!

And Jasper makes three!
Jasper is our new guy - the Cat From Another Place. He's four years old and we think he likes it here - so far, so good!

The annual dilemma...

of where to put the Christmas decorations continues.  I love these little white deer - just like the ones you see in people's yard - only a lot smaller!  These belonged to my mother-in-law; my husband's older brother made them many years ago.  He was a cabinetmaker and he did beautiful work - Tim has a small painted box that Harry made.  I used to tell Grandma that I wanted these deer when she died.  Remember saying that to your mom or grandma when you were a kid?  Well, when my husband moved her up to Pennsylvania, she gave them to me and said, "Why wait until I die - enjoy them now."  And I do.  I've named them Shirley and Pop in honor of Tim's mom and stepfather.
I can't figure out what to do with these adorable photo holders - or what photos to put in them.  I just love the sweet folk art style.
When I see the right spot, I'll know it.
These two Christmas baskets are begging for a spot on my desk - but there just isn't any more room.  Any ideas?

  1. I have a collection of the photo holders too. In years past I have used them to hold photo Christmas cards I've received but as I age so do my friends and no one seems to get their families together for photos any more.
