Welcome!

I've finally decided that I am a writer - all the other things I do just pay the bills. Someone eloquent once said that if you do what you love, the money will follow. Well, let's just see about that.

RIP Aggie

RIP Aggie
Aggie was my fifteen-year-old cairn terrier - or maybe I should say I was her 55-year-old person! She was my faithful companion, spoiled rotten and I am still trying to figure out what to do without her.

Peter the Cat...

Peter the Cat...
This is Peter the gingersnap tabby! He's seven years old and has just been promoted to Peter the Very, Very Good. He is working his way up to Peter the Great...

Bee - the Cat Who Came From Somewhere Else...

Bee - the Cat Who Came From Somewhere Else...
Bee is Peter's buddy. He's eight years old and has made himself right at home. I guess cats really do come in pairs or sets of three!

And Jasper makes three!

And Jasper makes three!
Jasper is our new guy - the Cat From Another Place. He's four years old and we think he likes it here - so far, so good!

Fold, stuff, stamp...

and I am finally finished!  The client holiday greetings are in the mail - along with 30 handmade Christmas cards for one of my client's clients and most of my personal Christmas cards.  I still have to make a few more of those...  But I really feel like I've accomplished something the past couple of days.  You know I'm cheap - and this has been the Year of Living Frugally - but client birthday cards and Christmas greetings are the only real advertising I ever do.  Well, that and the free paper distributed in the area - it's only $65 for three months - and I get a lot of calls from that small business card size ad.  Most of my new clients come through referrals from my existing clients - and for that I am very thankful.  I usually make cards - 300 of them! - but this year I needed to tell my clients that I am now working from home, so I did a letter - which was much less labor intensive.  All I had to do was update my mailing labels and print!  Of course, I had to brave WalMart to buy clear labels on which to print the mailing list - so there was some pain associated with the gain.
Don't you just love it when a plan comes together?
