Welcome!

I've finally decided that I am a writer - all the other things I do just pay the bills. Someone eloquent once said that if you do what you love, the money will follow. Well, let's just see about that.

RIP Aggie

RIP Aggie
Aggie was my fifteen-year-old cairn terrier - or maybe I should say I was her 55-year-old person! She was my faithful companion, spoiled rotten and I am still trying to figure out what to do without her.

Peter the Cat...

Peter the Cat...
This is Peter the gingersnap tabby! He's seven years old and has just been promoted to Peter the Very, Very Good. He is working his way up to Peter the Great...

Bee - the Cat Who Came From Somewhere Else...
Bee is Peter's buddy. He's eight years old and has made himself right at home. I guess cats really do come in pairs or sets of three!

And Jasper makes three!

And Jasper makes three!
Jasper is our new guy - the Cat From Another Place. He's four years old and we think he likes it here - so far, so good!

A cooking frenzy...

When I have nothing to do, I cook.  I put a big pot of pea soup (two big bags of dried split peas!) in the crock pot with chicken bouillon, onions and diced ham.  Then I baked two batches of chewy walnut brownies.  I've been handing brownies out to anyone who comes into the office.  The mailman went off with a baggie full - have to keep the regulars happy!

  1. I had a snow day yesterday. For breakfast I made steel cut oatmeal, and in the afternoon I cooked a pot of beans.

  2. I need a pool repair guy so I saw my neighbors in his driveway. I took a couple of cookies I just baked over and asked him to take a look at the pool. He was so kind and obliged. Some times you just need insurance in the form of sweets. haha.
That soup sounds good. I'm making chicken and dumplings tonight. It's so stinkin cold here.

  3. Wish I could stop by for one of those brownies!! The pea soup sounds deliciously easy. I think I will put it on our menu for next week.
    Thanks so much for sharing.
