Welcome!

I've finally decided that I am a writer - all the other things I do just pay the bills. Someone eloquent once said that if you do what you love, the money will follow. Well, let's just see about that.

RIP Aggie

RIP Aggie
Aggie was my fifteen-year-old cairn terrier - or maybe I should say I was her 55-year-old person! She was my faithful companion, spoiled rotten and I am still trying to figure out what to do without her.

Peter the Cat...

Peter the Cat...
This is Peter the gingersnap tabby! He's seven years old and has just been promoted to Peter the Very, Very Good. He is working his way up to Peter the Great...

Bee - the Cat Who Came From Somewhere Else...
Bee is Peter's buddy. He's eight years old and has made himself right at home. I guess cats really do come in pairs or sets of three!

And Jasper makes three!

And Jasper makes three!
Jasper is our new guy - the Cat From Another Place. He's four years old and we think he likes it here - so far, so good!

A new year and new...

calendar backgrounds for your computer desktop!  Okay - I'll admit that I am a sucker for a new calendar - and a pretty free calendar is even better!  I found these free downloads at Home Made Simple - the same place I found the Ten Goals for 2010 last year.  The design is sort of a departure for me - I mean, it's not even remotely Mary Engelbreit-ish - but I like it.  The Home Made Simple website also has lots of other great stuff - recipes, decorating and organizing ideas, product reviews - it's definitely worth checking out.  I am still on the lookout for a half-price Mary Engelbreit page-a-day calendar for this year; I haven't had one in forever, but I am not willing to pay full price for one.  I keep checking Amazon and eBay because it's dangerous for me to actually go into a bookstore.  Way too tempting - even when I don't have any extra money.  I mean, who needs to eat?  It seems that both Target and WalMart didn't have many calendars this year - and I saw no ME calendars in either store - or I would have had one by now!  For now I'll have to content myself with these cool free desktop calendars...

  1. I like that background too!

Just a heads up...over the ML King weekend (which is coming up) Borders slashes the prices on their calendars. I haven't bought one for a few years, but last time I did, they were only three or four dollars. Might be worth putting your "book blinders" on...
