Welcome!

I've finally decided that I am a writer - all the other things I do just pay the bills. Someone eloquent once said that if you do what you love, the money will follow. Well, let's just see about that.

RIP Aggie

RIP Aggie
Aggie was my fifteen-year-old cairn terrier - or maybe I should say I was her 55-year-old person! She was my faithful companion, spoiled rotten and I am still trying to figure out what to do without her.

Peter the Cat...

Peter the Cat...
This is Peter the gingersnap tabby! He's seven years old and has just been promoted to Peter the Very, Very Good. He is working his way up to Peter the Great...

Bee - the Cat Who Came From Somewhere Else...
Bee is Peter's buddy. He's eight years old and has made himself right at home. I guess cats really do come in pairs or sets of three!

And Jasper makes three!

And Jasper makes three!
Jasper is our new guy - the Cat From Another Place. He's four years old and we think he likes it here - so far, so good!

I had the best time...

tonight!  A dear friend of mine, whom I have not have the pleasure of seeing in about eight years, drove up to see me and have dinner.  She lives in Cape Coral and has been working in North Port - so it was still about a ninety-minute drive after she got off work - but I am so glad she could come to visit!  We talked and talked - that was even before dinner - and we were still yakking when we realized that it was nearly eleven!  Brenda is one of those people with you you feel instantly comfortable - and it was like no time had passed at all.  She has two lovely daughters, Adriana and Nora, and it was great to hear all about them and see how they've grown.  Brenda has had some challenges - as we all have - but her abiding faith has helped her to prevail over everything that life has sent her way and both she and her little family are doing better than ever.  We tried the new chinese restaurant near my house and it was really good.  I'm sure the waiter wondered what the two chunky old ladies were laughing about, but we didn't care.  Aggie got a couple of steamed dumplings and an egg roll in a doggie bag, which Brenda promptly fed to her when we got back from dinner.  Sorry, Aggie - we ate all the crab rangoon.  We had such a good time that we vowed not to wait another eight years before we get together again!
