Welcome!

I've finally decided that I am a writer - all the other things I do just pay the bills. Someone eloquent once said that if you do what you love, the money will follow. Well, let's just see about that.

RIP Aggie

RIP Aggie
Aggie was my fifteen-year-old cairn terrier - or maybe I should say I was her 55-year-old person! She was my faithful companion, spoiled rotten and I am still trying to figure out what to do without her.

Peter the Cat...

This is Peter the gingersnap tabby! He's seven years old and has just been promoted to Peter the Very, Very Good. He is working his way up to Peter the Great...

Bee - the Cat Who Came From Somewhere Else...
Bee is Peter's buddy. He's eight years old and has made himself right at home. I guess cats really do come in pairs or sets of three!

And Jasper makes three!

Jasper is our new guy - the Cat From Another Place. He's four years old and we think he likes it here - so far, so good!

Go green...

Aren't these the cutest postage stamps?  Yes - I still use snail mail.  There's just something about holding a real card or letter in your hands - but I digress.  I ordered these online - who stands in line at the post office anymore? - and they were in my mailbox this morning.  Sixteen different suggestions for going green - I can't wait to use them.  I've been using the Adopt A Shelter Pet stamps for a while now and I love them.  The orange tiger cat looks like my Eddie and the scruffy mutt reminds me of Monty.  I don't know if people notice the cute stamps or not, but I enjoy using them.  I loved the Happy Birthday stamps they had a few years ago and the Celebrate stamps are great for birthday cards.  They have a new Celebrate stamp that looks like lighted multi-color candles.  And who doesn't love a Love stamp?  I may not single-handedly keep the post office in business, but I do appreciate the work they do.  I have a wonderful mail lady who, once she found out I worked at home, stopped by my apartment during tax season to see if I have any outgoing mail.  Now she just stops to say hello!  I try to think of mailing cards and buying stamps as my small contribution to keeping a really nice postal worker employed.  And what goes around, comes around - the mailman from my old office is now one of my tax clients!

  1. So you order the stamps online? I am going to do that! I mail cards to Ben in California. I pay most of my bills online now but the water bill and doctor bills are still mailed in!

  2. I don't use a lot of stamps any more, but when I buy them, I always pick a commemorative one. How boring is it to always have the same thing on an envelope?

  3. Wow, so glad you came by...thought you fell off the face of the earth. Sue and I were just talking about you the other day and saying we haven't heard from you lately. Now that tax season is over hope to hear from you more. I love stamps too.
