Welcome!

I've finally decided that I am a writer - all the other things I do just pay the bills. Someone eloquent once said that if you do what you love, the money will follow. Well, let's just see about that.

RIP Aggie

RIP Aggie
Aggie was my fifteen-year-old cairn terrier - or maybe I should say I was her 55-year-old person! She was my faithful companion, spoiled rotten and I am still trying to figure out what to do without her.

Peter the Cat...

Peter the Cat...
This is Peter the gingersnap tabby! He's seven years old and has just been promoted to Peter the Very, Very Good. He is working his way up to Peter the Great...

Bee - the Cat Who Came From Somewhere Else...

Bee - the Cat Who Came From Somewhere Else...
Bee is Peter's buddy. He's eight years old and has made himself right at home. I guess cats really do come in pairs or sets of three!

And Jasper makes three!

And Jasper makes three!
Jasper is our new guy - the Cat From Another Place. He's four years old and we think he likes it here - so far, so good!

At long last...

my little round table with the sewing machine base is out of the middle of my living room and in the bedroom - isn't it perfect there?  It's exactly right with my antique iron bed.  I was going to have the Salvation Army pick up the old nightstand but as it turns out one of my clients' mother would like it to use as a TV stand - so it's going to a good home.  I thought I had found the perfect small oak three-drawer chest for the other side of the bed, but alas - already sold.  Those $50 craigslist bargains go fast!  I'll just keep looking - one will turn up.
I really do like the old desk in the living room where the round table was previously.  More space for my reading stack and a place for my fan.  As you can see, Aggie has rearranged the sofa to her liking, although I must have put those small pillows up on the back at some point - she is not nearly that tidy.  I keep telling myself that one day I finally get things just the way I want them in this new space - but I've lived here for a year already.  I suppose that anywhere we live is always a work in progress.  Isn't it?

  1. what a pretty table. Love that as a night stand.
Yes, very true, every place is always a work in progress no matter how long you live there.
